Welcome to
RIDE THE WAVE
Our Mission
Connecting and investing in the lives of displaced children through a “lake life” vision. The water has something to offer everyone regardless of fears and abilities and our organization will use local lakes and boating activities to encourage young lives, empowering them to realize that even in the storms they matter, and their lives are valued. You cannot control the storm, but you can learn to RIDE THE WAVE!

Our Vision

Ride The Wave is a program of the Simply Love Non-Profit organization. It is founded with the realization that there will be storms in life, but those storms do not have to negatively define us thus establishing our motto “You can’t control the storm, but you can learn to Ride the Wave.” Our ultimate goal is to bring children from outside the popular spectrum of need into the limelight of attention and positive reinforcement. These children are in the foster system or children’s homes but do not qualify for special needs programs. Ride the Wave looks beyond the battle the displaced individual faces to see and encourage the heart of the child. If even a moment of time can impact a life, imagine what an entire day on the lake could do.
About Us
“You can’t control the storm, but you can learn to Ride the Wave.” What we are looking to do is bring kids from foster homes that have been neglected or had a rough hand dealt to them in this life. We want to take those kids out for a day on the lake and make the experience all about them and what they want to do.
01.
— There are approximately 424,000 foster youth nationwide.
02.
— The median age of children in foster care is 6 ½ years old.
03.
— Majority of foster kids suffer from depression, PTSD and anxiety.
04.
—Roughly 20,000 youth are forced to exit the system annually without having found a forever family, leaving them to fend for themselves.

Our Story
I have a couple of quick stories that really made an impact on my family and why we chose to do this. The first story is not mine, but instead one of the greatest men I know, my grandfather Walter “Boz” Leverett. My mother recently told me a story of how she ran into someone she knew as a child. Let’s say her name is Betsy. Well Betsy asked how Boz was doing and went on and on about how she was so thankful for him. My mother looking somewhat puzzled after a while

WHO WE ARE
Like our Non-Profit organization we are here to Simply Love. We are blessed but no stranger to struggle. As the founder of our Ride the Wave program my wife and I know firsthand the toll that anxiety and depression can take on everyday life. Our hearts’ desire is to not only teach but exemplify positive ways of working through real life troubles. One of our favorite experiences as a parent is watching our kids experience the freedom of letting go and having fun – especially family fun.
